Tahm Kench will be disabled in the LEC

Tahm Kench will not be playable during the following week of the 2021 LEC Summer Split due to his gameplay from the recent rework in patch 11.13.

Many fans are already excited to see how the new rework performs in professional gameplay, but they will have to wait a little longer. Tahm Kench will not be accessible for any future games in the European LEC since his modifications are deemed a substantial playstyle.

Tahm Kench won’t be playable in the LEC

According to LEC commissioner Maximilian Schmidt, this puts the Kench on the bench for the time being.

Tahm Kench’s revamp has incorporated a number of modifications that will most likely affect his playstyle at the professional level. The most notable change is that the Kench’s ultimate is now Devour, while Abyssal Voyage is now his W ability. The champion is now more mobile, with a shorter cooldown on Abyssal Voyage. This, however, can put the player into an award situation when they are still not familiar with the switch of the 2 abilities.

Even though that’s the case, Tahm Kench appears to be considerably stronger in the top lane, strong enough to even solo-kill a full health Riven while being only at 1% health. Tahm Kench will most likely still be a good support despite the rework to his ultimate, but not in the same sense as before. His ultimate continues to consume people, but it is now stronger and has the ability to offer friends a shield when Devouring them.

In addition, several bugs concerning his new ult are thought to put the champion into the bench, too. In the meantime, Tahm Kench will be awaiting his post-rework LEC debut until Riot has had time to tweak the balance on him and players find out how to get used to his new playstyle.
