TFT set 7.5: Fimbulwinter will replace Frozen Heart

Riot Games is replacing Teamfight Tactics item Frozen Heart with Fimbulwinter

The Teamfight Tactics Dragonlands expansion’s new mid-set update has been officially announced. With the new set 7.5: Uncharted Realms revealed, fans are more than happy to await the new units, traits, and even the new Chaos and Order Treasure Dragon. While that seems fun all in all, fans will also see the replacement of Frozen Heart with Fimbulwinter.

While the name of the new item may change in the next patches (as the item’s image is used by Winter’s Approach), TFT developers are planning to give the old tank item a new role in Set 7.5.

For a long time, the item — which is commonly built on Assassins — has been difficult to play against. The development team worked hard to find a solution, which they feel they have discovered with the launch of Fimbulwinter. The item will be built from Tear and Chain Vest, similar to Frozen Heart, but will have a completely different effect.

Fimbulwinter is identical to the old Redemption, except instead of health regen, it has a shield.

The new item grants the wearer 20 armor, 30 mana, and 15 additional mana at the start of each round. When the bearer’s health drop to 50%, Fimbulwinter will offer a 30% maximum health shield that lasts up to 3 seconds. The shield will also extend to allies within three hexes, providing them with an extra 20 attack damage and ability power for the remainder of the battle.

Although the two items appear to have few different features, it is quite likely that they will be utilized in a similar manner by TFT players. The new item is already being tested by PBE players and will be accessible to all players on September 8 with Patch 12.17.
