Riot has already begun to plan for TFT Set 7, and with the recent leak from China, they will certainly announce sooner or later
With Gizmos and Gadgets coming to an end in a couple of months, a slew of new champions, traits, and a one-of-a-kind mechanism will be introduced in TFT set 7. Riot is getting a little ahead of itself – although TFT Set 6.5 is still in the works, the devs are already giving players their first taste of Set 7. As stated in their Dev Video back in January, set 7 will take place in the dragon realms.
“Our seventh set takes place in the dragon realms where clans compete for power across various islands, each worshipping their own powerful ancient dragons locked behind the mysteries of dormant shrines,”
The excitement for TFT Set 7 is already growing, thanks to the units and traits, as well as the Dragon mechanic hinted in that dev vid. However, only one unit was shown off, and that is Illaoi, a 3-star unit with tentacles that can shatter the entire board.
Fortunately, Chinese leakers have revealed some new units and traits in front of TFT Set 7. These include the addition of a new “Dragon Clan” trait that will spawn Aurelion Sol when enough units use abilities and the reintroduction of 5-star Lee Sin with a new ability.
Riot is extremely intent on retaining a similar dynamic for TFT Set 7, and the devs have spoken about a new Dragons system that ties into the set thematic. haven’t specified how you train and create your dragon. However, it is still in the early stages of production, and although the set is being refined step by step, Riot is holding on all of they can.
For the time being, with the Neon Nights Mid-Set update arriving in February, it’s reasonable to anticipate that the upcoming Dragons set will arrive in May or June 2022.
