Ground-breaking Bug: Umbral Glaive Stops Jungle Plants From Re-Appearing In Worlds 2020

Will Worlds 2020 Knock-Out Stage be affected by Umbral Glaive?

According to a reddit post uploaded by IWillTakeTheBlame_, if any professional players are wanting to play a jungle champion that needs Umbral Glaive, it might dramatically affect the entire outcome of the match.

What happened?

He discovered that if any jungle champions that are running Umbral Glaive in their inventories hit any jungle plant (Blast Cone, Honeyfruit, and Scryer’s Bloom), it will never appear again in the match. He also provided evidence that clearly shown the plant wouldn’t respawn.

Especially in the match between G2 and Suning, while the bug that has been rumored for quite a period of time is when Graves W bug that cancels Syndra’s Ultimate, the real bug has been founded! In the tiebreaker match, at 30:25 minute mark, Graves by Sofm hit the jungle plant (he did have Umbral Glaive) and from that time, it just simply didn’t respawn. Every jungle plant will respawn after 7 minutes, but if you check the minimap, it didn’t appear (check it by noticing the green mini symbol on the minimap).

How Jungle Plants Dramatically Affect Worlds 2020 Outcome?

At first thought, it is not that important since the outcome of the matches is determined by many bigger factors, a single or a few plants won’t be that big of a difference right? This might be a true statement, however, if you notice the Blast Cones that are staying near at the cliff of the Baron or Dragon pit, you will know how big of differences it will make.

Not only it will affect the game geographically, but it will also make strong early or late game champions have many more advantages when they are able to reach their opponents which normally they couldn’t (because of the Blast Cone factor). Not only Blast Cone, but the disappearance of other Jungle Plants like Scryer’s Bloom and Honeyfruit might also have a slight impact on how the flow of the game will be.

If Riot doesn’t fix this bug soon enough before the Knock-Out Stage begins, professional teams might have to re-consider when they want to lock in champions such as Graves, Pantheon, or Support Senna as these champions really love Umbral Glaive. Let’s see how Riot will respond.
