Viego to have an incredibly low debut win rate

The return of Viego – The Ruined King does not seem to be going very well.

Viego, League’s newest champion, is the first champion to be released in 2021 and is expected by many players to stir the meta with his unique skill set. The Ruined King is having a hard time trying to fit in with the meta

However, after his launch on the official servers, Ruined King’s win rate was below 42 percent with a 13.2 percent pick rate in ranked matches from Platinum and above, according to leagueofgraphs.com. Despite having a decent pick rate, Viego seems to could not create enough impact in the gameplay.

The newest jungler of League of Legends is having a hard time keeping up with the current meta against other junglers like Elise, Olaf, and Taliyah. Viego’s passive allows him to steal the soul of an enemy champion and use their abilities while gaining full control over stats and items, which seems kinda cool theoretically. On the other hand, his Passive might be the thing that affects Viego’s win rate the most at the moment.

With the fact that many players are still trying to practicing and experiencing this champion and not yet fully understanding about his skill set and mechanic of other champions, they may have a hard time grasping their abilities and leveraging the power from this champion’s unique passive.

In addition, Viego’s skill set makes him have a relatively difficult early game in the jungle. Low efficient camp clearing with his abilities and low mobility make Viego completely fell behind when compared to meta junglers like Olaf or Pantheon, who have both camp clear speed and high 1v1 potential in the early stages of the game.

Viego’s Q gives him the ability to cope with early 1v1 fights relatively well. Despite being designed as a jungler, the Ruined King is however, finding himself more successful at solo lane with Viego Mid lane is currently having a slightly higher win rate in comparison.

We could expect to see this champion’s win rate to have some improvements in the near future, when players have already know how the champion function and finding good builds on him. The key to his success is, however, using his Passive in the right situations and make sure you make the most out of the flexibility it provides.
