Arcane, Riot Games’ latest blockbuster animated series, has premiered to critical and fan acclaim.
With the massive impact of how Arcane affects League’s universe, there have been several fan theories and speculations concerning of secret backstories based just on the first act. Fans are beginning to wonder if the series will lead to the announcement of new League of Legends champions, in addition to potential origin tales for champions concealed in the series.
Looking back at Riot’s Champion Roadmap way back in September, we may get tiny previews for the next two champions. The second character to be revealed is a marksman, whose teaser appears to be most closely related to Arcane. A top-down view of a desk covered with plans for weaponry. Piltover’s thematic location in the setting is well aligned with the aesthetic of tinkering, research, and magic.
The owl mask character in Arcane
The owl mask-wearing character that appears in Arcane’s opening credits is probably the most suitable for a new champion who has previously appeared in the show’s advertising. In the prior promotional campaign, the character has been seen fighting Jinx with other similarly dressed figures. The character is shown carrying a homemade baton and riding on a hoverboard of some sort.
The mysterious character has yet to come on film as of the first act’s conclusion. There’s no trace of the Champion Roadmap’s electrical pistol, and this figure doesn’t even fit the support’s Ionian style, which was just previewed. If by intended, Riot is doing an amazing job of keeping this owl-masked figure hidden if he is to become a champion.
There’s no guarantee that any new champions will make their debut in Arcane at this time, but it’s still a chance. The series might introduce an intriguing new playable champion to attract new League of Legends players would be a great strategy from Riot.
