With 8 eliminations last week, we’re down to only 97 teams still in the running for Worlds
109 teams started in the Summer splits leading up to Worlds:
- 4 were eliminated July 18-24: Gravitas, Rensga, Globant, INTZ
- 8 were eliminated July 24-31: Hanwha, Brion, 5 Ronin, BDS, SEM9, WE, Flamengo, XTE
3 were eliminated this week so far August 1-7 bringing the total teams to 94
Mammoth from Oceania and Ultra Prime, Atom from China ended their quest for Worlds this year, bombing out of the group stage.
Notably, Team WE and 5 Ronin went out without a single series to their name, both going 0-14.
That leaves us with 94 teams. We could end this week with 88 teams:
SK, NS Redforce, Dewish Team, V3, 4 teams are at risk of being mathematically out
Miners or Liberty and Infinity or All Knights will be eliminated in the losers’ bracket, so that’s 2 teams that will be out for sure.

This year’s Worlds will span multiple countries from September 29 to November 5.
