Fans will be able to watch the 2022 League of Legends World Championship live in a brand-new, cinematic fashion starting in November. The San Francisco Grand Final will be shown in a few theatres throughout the world, according to Riot Games, allowing fans to watch the action from the comfort of their own towns.
The official LoL in Theaters website and participating movie theater box offices will both start selling tickets in the United States and Canada today. With venues to be confirmed soon, international fans will also have the opportunity to participate in this special event.
Worlds is the biggest esports event of the year, and this collaboration with Lexis Partners will help us bring the excitement of the World Final to big screens across the world. The multi-award-winning musician Lil Nas X will play the new anthem for the competition, STAR WALKIN’ at the Finals’ opening ceremony, which will start at 6 p.m. CT. Then, as fans from all over the world tune in to see history being created and a new champion being crowned, the last best-of-five match between the final two teams will start.
There will also be League influencers and celebrities making special appearances and interacting with fans at some theater showings of the Finals for those who plan to watch them there. Currently, the event will be held in over 100 theaters across North America, but keep an eye out as additional locations are added.
On Saturday, Nov. 5, the World Finals will take place. Be prepared to see the largest esports championship.
