A small update has been issued to Rammus in order to make him more than “OK.”
League of Legends lead gameplay designer Mark “Scruffy” Yetter outlined several tweaks to Armordillo in today’s blog post, refreshing his taunt and ultimate. While no specific schedule has yet been offered, however, Scruffy says it’s “coming soon.”
Puncturing Taunt (E) is going to receive a slightly nerf to make up for his new ultimate. Its cooldown will now be 12 seconds at all ranks rather than 10 at max level. And it’s taunt duration will range from one to two seconds, instead of 1.25 to 2.25.
But the most exciting update is Rammus’ ultimate, which is now called Soaring Slam (R). Armordillo is now can leap into the air and slam down at a target location, dealing magic damage and slowing enemies for one second. If the ult is casting while the champ is in Powerball (Q), the enemies near the center are also knock up. The range of ability will increase based on Rammus’ movement speed and deal 200 percent damage to turrets. On the other hand, its cooldown will be increased to 120/100/80 seconds.
With Rammus heading to Wild Rift, the mobile and PC teams worked together to upgrade the champ that fits on all platforms. Scruffy admits that after the update Rammus might function better in high MMR, but one gameplay goal is to give the “historically linear character more choices and interactions beyond just running at someone and taunting.”
Scruffy also addressed that there is a Tahm Kench’s mini rework as well in the works.
