Following fan backlash over the Debonair event, Riot Games has modified the Lunar event awards once again.
Riot Games has announced that it is modifying League of Legends event prizes once again after changes from measurements that focused on games played or won to a points system that relies on time played. Something needs to happen when a move aimed to improve player reward results in slower token accumulation.
Riot Games’ point system for the Debonair event will be carried over to the Lunar Revel event, which will appear in various versions throughout TFT and League of Legends. Mission requirements, on the other hand, have been dropped to better account for most players’ real pace of play.
The winning team will receive 6 points every minute during a Summoner’s Rift game, while the losing team will receive 4 points per minute. This is the same rate as other game modes such as ARAMs and ARURF, which will come back during the Lunar Revel event. To prevent players from exploiting the system, co-op versus. AI games provide a pitiful 2 points per minute for winning and 1 for losing.
Teamfight Tactics continues to offer fewer rewards than League of Legends, with points per minute increasing based on a player’s position in the match. The missions’ requirements have been reduced by 30 to 40% on average, with previous missions seeing significantly larger reductions.
Unlike the prior update, this modification of the event distribution is entirely positive for everyone who participates. The 2022 Lunar Revel event will require fans to play less games and wait less time to receive Festival Firecrackers, emotes, and other Lunar New Year prizes.
