Finally, the origin of this latest mechanism in LoL has come to light…
A few days ago, the 156th champion of LoL – Akshan, has come to all live servers around the world. Besides the enormously high amount of damage at the late game, his W has a new mechanism that allows him to resurrect his slain allies. However, this has been receiving tons of complaints from the community as he can easily flip the table with just a takedown, or just an assist.
Because of those, the creator of Akshan – Riot Jag, had to give the community some explanations. In the latest post on the LoL homepage, he said that he had already known about the potential of that OP mechanism. Nevertheless, Riot decided to take a risk to make champions having a “selfish” playstyle more cooperative. Instead of ignoring his teammates, Akshan’s appearance in fights will be apparently compulsory.
If you have been playing LoL for years, you will easily recognize that Riot Games had made some dangerous decisions before. For example, Yasuo with his wind wall can block all kinds of bullets or upgrading the kit like Kha’zix or Kai’sa. They have made LoL continually changes and created unique playstyles.
As a result, a champion with an outstanding mechanism like Akshan has been created although they had figured out how risky it is. The appearance of Akshan will probably change the way of making new champions. In the future, maybe there will be another one having some additional effects when getting takedowns. Our next champion will be Vex and we actually cannot wait for her anymore.
