One of the most frustrating champions in League of Legends has become even more troublesome due to a new game-breaking bug that allows him to infinitely stack shields.
In the latest Patch 14.19, one of the biggest updates this year, significant changes were introduced. Almost every item in the game received adjustments, weakening every champion to some extent. Alongside these item changes, there were reworks to several champions, including K’Sante, a champion that has been particularly challenging for the balance team to manage.
K’Sante has been a major source of frustration ever since he was released. He quickly became known as one of the strongest tanks in the game, capable of not only being an incredibly tough frontline but also having the ability to take down when given the opportunity. Despite several attempts by Riot to balance him, K’Sante has remained a problem in the game.
In the September 25th update, Riot tried to address some of his issues by reworking his kit. Unfortunately, this rework may have made things even worse. A new bug has been discovered, allowing K’Sante to stack shields infinitely on other champions.
This bug was found by challenger mid laner Strompest, who revealed that K’Sante can use his E ability to stack shields on an ally. Normally, this ability works as intended with the item Moonstone Renewer, which allows a portion of the shield to transfer to an ally.
However, the problem arises because the shield from Moonstone Renewer doesn’t disappear as it should. Instead, it stays in place, letting K’Sante continuously stack the shield to a massive size.
K’Sante was already struggling after his rework, which had weakened him significantly. The developers even had to introduce a hotfix buff to keep him viable in the current meta. His new kit is now much clunkier, with many of his animation-canceling abilities being slowed down. To compensate for this, the developers gave him more lethality after using his ultimate, but overall, his gameplay feels less smooth than before.
Riot Games is generally quick to respond when bugs like this surface, so it’s likely that we’ll see a patch in the next few days to fix this issue. Until then, players may want to continue banning K’Sante in their matches.
